Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect the least we can get away with: your email address and the web addresses you ask us to watch. We don't sell anything about you to anybody, ever. We don't run ads on this site. You can have your account and everything in it deleted by asking.

What we collect

• Your email address. It's how you sign in (we email you a link instead of making you remember a password) and it's where alerts go.
• The website addresses you ask us to watch, plus anything you choose to name them.
• What our checks find — whether your site answered, how quickly, when your certificate and domain expire, and similar public facts about your site.
• The IP address your sign-in request came from, so we can spot people abusing the sign-in form.
• Any extra addresses you add to receive alerts (for example your web person). We only email those addresses when something is wrong with your site.

We never ask for and never store a password. If you subscribe, your card details go straight to Stripe — they never touch our servers and we never see them.

What we do with it

We use it to watch your site and to tell you when something breaks. That's the whole product. We also use your email to send you the things you signed up for: outage and certificate alerts, an optional weekly check-in, and a monthly report card. Every non-urgent email has a one-click unsubscribe; urgent alerts about your own site keep coming as long as you have an account, because that's what you're paying us for.

Who else sees it

Only the companies we need to run the service:

• Postmark — sends our email, so they handle your address.
• Stripe — handles payment if you subscribe.
• Google — Analytics and Ads measurement on our public pages, and Google Safe Browsing, which we ask whether your site has been flagged as unsafe.
• Plausible — privacy-friendly visitor counts, when enabled.

That's the complete list. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Cookies

We set one cookie to keep you signed in. Google Analytics and Ads set their own cookies on our public pages to measure whether our advertising works. If you'd rather not be measured, browser tracking protection or an ad blocker will stop it, and the product will work exactly the same.

How long we keep things

We keep your account and its monitoring history for as long as your account is open, so we can show you your history. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove it and its monitoring data from our systems. Backups roll off within 7 days. Our email provider and payment processor keep their own records to meet their legal obligations.

Your choices

Ask us and we'll tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — no forms, no hoops. Use the contact page or just reply to any email we send you. We're a small company in Louisiana; a real person will read it.

Children

KeepPaw is a tool for businesses and isn't intended for anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters, we'll say so at the top and, for anything significant, email account holders.
